I want to flash my Torqx M28 128GB SSD with new FW that has TRIM. My problem is I can't figure out how to create a bootable USB thumbdrive with the new FW. Tried a few free utilities and even a manual procedure from DOS but my BIOS won't recognize it. I made a bootable USB drive for True Image to load windows for after the SSD FW flash and that works fine so it must be something I'm doing wrong because I know my BIOS handles bootable USB media. True image has its own bootable media application. I wish Patriot had one for the Torqx SSD. They only give me an autoexex.bat file, the drivers and a lame set of instructions (see below links).
Can anyone recommend a fail proof (idiot proof) set of steps I should follow? I've tried the free app "Bootable USB Drive Creator" with freedos and dos then copied the Torqx files as directed but my PC won't see it as a bootable device. Any other free 3rd party apps out there? I can't run the autoexec.bat from CMD because it says it won't run on 64bit machines.
